Update on RSS-Feeds of Journals TOC

March 18, 2009

In addition to a previous blog entry it seems highly desireable to include the “List of Journals with RSS Feeds” displayed on the Highwire Press page here.  More lists can be generated by starting a google search using “site:domain RSS” like this one “TOC site:www.bioone.org/ RSS“. It is  a little more work, as the feeds are not listed, but only the respective journal’s current TOC.  The RSS-feed icon on the same page will then allow to subscribe to the feed.

Toc and RSS

July 25, 2008

There are two databases of journals’ TOC with RSS available which would well be worth the veterinary librarians’ interest, subjects not being limited to the veterinary field only:

  • Tictocs,  a database with 7,771 journals (June 25th, 2008), searchable by journal title ( or segment of it, even truncated *) or by publisher, maintained by a British consortium
  • Journals Feed Navigator which is just one application of the broader Feed Navigator, maintained by the Finnish National Library of Health Sciences – Terkko. It has various functionalities.

Purely veterinary titles are available here and here.
